yoga therapy is an internationally recognized method of healing

The International Association of Yoga Therapists are the governing body and certify teachers who have completed 1,000 hours of required study, mentoring, and case studies. When looking for a yoga therapist, always make sure to find the C-IAYT after their name- this means they have completed this rigorous training. We are held to very high standards and ethics to continue to hold this designation.

Lucy Greenwood is in the process of this training. When you work together, you’ll be receiving their knowledge from this intensive training, although 1x1 prices are currently discounted until the end of their training period.

Yoga is about so much more than just the physical practice- asana. According to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, there are 8 separate practices that culminate in samadhi- connection with all.

Yoga Therapy uses the lens of yoga to help identify patterns of behavior on all levels of being, and then assists the client in adjusting the tracks of their samskaras (emotional patterns of behavior). We work to balance energetics to assist living a healthy, centered, and sweet life .

Some clients come with physical pain complaints, or are working to heal old injuries. Some are looking for a more mental approach- working to thrive in lives where mood disorders have taken over.

When you work with Lucy, you’ll be learning a whole mind | body | spirit approach to your health. You don’t need to fold yourself into a pretzel or hide from your emotions in order to live a full and vibrant life.

My Teaching Method

  • asana

Asana is the physical posture practice of yoga. Your sequence will be personalized just for you, and you get a professional copy to take home and practice yourself. The asana we do will be aimed at creating more space/ stability/ flow of energy.

  • nidra

Yoga Nidra means the yoga of sleep. It isn’t a nap, but a method of deeply healing both physical and mental pain. You get a recording of the nidra we do so you can listen to it at home when you need a refresh.

  • svadhyaya

Sva means “self”, “human soul” “own” . Adhyaya means “lesson”, “lecture”. “reading”. Putting the word together, svadhyaya means learning about yourself. Lucy will have a PDF workbook for you after your first session with journaling prompts- a great way to begin the study of your Self.
