Lucy’s journey with yoga began in 2009 after years of badly coping with trauma, grief, previously undiagnosed neurodivergence, and mental health.
It was only a few years later that they took their first 200 hour yoga teacher training in Boston, MA.
Yoga was the first time they felt still internally. Everything faded away except for the present moment, breath, and a new found connection to their body.
Lucy teaches classes designed to exalt the beauty, strength, and love of being in a human body. They provide a sacred space for all students to explore their inner landscape through mindful and playful sequencing and descriptive speech.
Lucy is neurodivergent- specifically Autistic and ADHD. They don’t mask during 1x1 sessions, and encourage you to do the same. In a session you may notice them rocking, flapping, looking to the side when speaking, amongst other usually shunned social behavior. This unmasking lets Lucy go deeper into the energetics your session, and they hope to create a container where you feel supported to unmask as well. These sessions are neurodivergent and queer friendly.
Since that first 200 hour training in 2014, Lucy has completed a second 200 hour training in Flagstaff, AZ, a 300 hour advanced teacher training, and is completing their 1,000 hour yoga therapy training. Total they’ve taken more than 1700 hours of specific and advanced training in the world of yoga, and have been a dedicated practitioner for over 15 years. Yoga is Lucy’s special interest.
Lucy is an E-RYT 500, and in the process of getting their C-IAYT Yoga Therapy certification.
